Producers of Provence

« Between sea and mountain, the land of Provence, on which the influence of the wind dominates, is fully warmed up by the sun more than 300 days per year and also benefits from great water supplies thanks to the Rhône, the Durance, the Verdon and their numerous tributaries. With a Mediterranean area which is rather dry, and a much greener and wetter Alpine area, the region is made of a great varieties of lands, be it on the geologic or climatic level. The know-how of the peasants, coupled with this exceptional geographic position gives birth to fruits and vegetables of very high quality.”

ProNatura’s historic production

ProNatura’s story started here in 1987, and Provence production gathers today 200 farmers who grow more than 70 emblematic products from Provence: tomatoes, courgettes, salads, apricots, cherries, prunes, melons… It was structured around Cavaillon and its agronomical assistance.

Moreover, pushed by ProNatura, our producers grow with passion vegetables that are sometimes forgotten or exceptionally tasteful varieties such as purslane, garden cress, Chioggia beetroot, ancient tomatoes…

ProNatura and MédiTerraBio association

ProNatura leads and supports since 2009 MediTerraBio’s association, “Organic farmers from Provence”…


It is a place for sharing and solidarity, its objective being gathering all market gardeners and arborist from the French South East who wish to contribute to a coherent organic agriculture. It has 37 members now. 8 great commitments are its pillars:

  3. Adopt good cropping practices
  4. Commit to carry out practices that respect environment
  5. Make diversity an economic and social driving force
  6. Promote seasonable identity
